In all truth, I’m not really a photographer – I’m an historian that carries around a camera. That’s more true than you might think. My eye looks at scenes as a documentarian first, and as an artist second. If you’re expecting stunningly impactful photography, that’s usually not me. If you’re wondering if I’ve got a clear, orthogonal shot of how the steam piping goes together on the side of a boiler, now that I probably have.

Most of my railroad photography will be in the Trip Reports section, neatly packaged (usually with some commentary you’ll probably fall asleep reading) into individual reports from specific adventures in the field.
